COVID-19 Safety

Sick Camper Policy
If you notice symptoms of illness in your child before camp, please use the symptom flow chart provided by the Washington State Department of Health to determine next steps for your child and family. If your child is sick, please keep her home and notify your Site Director. If your camper gets sick while at camp our staff will contact a parent or legally authorized adult who will be asked to pick them up immediately.
Medications
If your camper will need to be administered or will self-administer a medication during camp, please print, complete and sign the Medication Authorization Form. The form must be given to your child’s teacher on the first day of camp. Please bring the child’s medication in a clear, zip-lock bag, labeled with her name, proper dosage, and instructions. Our staff will keep their medication in their emergency supplies for the duration of camp.
If your child keeps an epi-pen or inhaler in their possession during camp hours we recommend a fanny pack that they can wear at all times. Our staff will not be responsible for ensuring your child has their inhaler or epi-pen if they move away from their designated camp area and go to a park, playground or other location.
Staff Training
All Girls Rock Math employees are required to hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification. Additionally, all employees as well as receive Anaphylaxis/EpiPen training and abuse prevention training. Employees are trained in Abuse Prevention and undergo a criminal background check and reference check prior to training for their position at Girls Rock Math.
Camper Safety
It is of the upmost importance that campers are safe at Girls Rock Math. State Designated camper-to-staff ratios are always maintained and no camper is to be left alone with a single staff member. When transitioning to and from recess, staff conduct head counts and supervise boundaries when outdoors. Adults must be authorized and use a password to pick up children at the end of the day. Unknown adults, even with a password must show photo ID.
Restrooms
Counselors and staff are never allowed in the bathroom stalls with children, and all children must be toilet trained. If your child is prone to accidents, please send extra clothing and ensure your child is able to clean and dress herself.
Walk-Home Permissions
If a child is in 5th grade or higher, they may sign themselves out of camp and walk home providing you have completed the Camper Walk Home Consent form and turned it into the camp staff on the first day of camp.
